Woman drowns in Lake Huron

A 43-year-old from Brampton is dead following a drowning in Lambton Shores.

OPP responded to a report of a possible drowning at Port Franks Beach around 7 p.m. on Saturday. According to police, it was reported that two individuals entered the water and had not resurfaced.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and one of the individuals had been rescued from the water by a civilian bystander.

The body of the second person was located on Sunday morning and they were pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified by police as 43-year-old Feona Bramwell of Brampton.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Monday.

The Ausable Bayfield and St. Clair Region conservation authorities had issued alerts Friday about high wind-driven waves developing Saturday into Sunday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
