Local COVID tests surpass 23,000

COVID-19 tests done by Lambton Public Health have surpassed 23,000.

The local health agency has received the results from 23,015 tests since the pandemic started, of which 98.5 per cent have been negative for the virus.

The local caseload is unchanged from Saturday night. The health unit says 311 of the 338 confirmed cases have been deemed resolved and there are two active cases. The death toll stands at 25, unchanged since early June.

Bluewater Health reported on its website Sunday that there are no patients confirmed to have the virus in hospital.

There are 15 patients, including pre-surgical screenings, awaiting test results.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
