Pot shop applications continue to grow but no approvals

There have been no approvals to open yet, but the number of pot shop applications continues to grow in Sarnia-Lambton.

There are now 14 proposed cannabis stores including 11 in the city.

The latest are for The We Store at 450 Trudeau Dr., Bogarts Cannabis Shop at 1202 Lakeshore Rd., and Your Highness at 415 Exmouth St., according to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) website.

Every application is still "in progress" except for The We Store and True North Cannabis Company which were both in the "public notice" stage.

There are two proposed stores in Petrolia now.

An application for Can-na-bis at 4212 Petrolia Line is in the "public notice" stage, while Rose Gold Cannabis at 4247 Oil Heritage Road is listed as "in progress."

It’s not known when any of the stores might be authorized to open.

An application is also pending in Grand Bend for The Bend Cannabis Co. at 19 Main St.
