Teen charged in Petrolia armed robbery

A 15-year-old from Lambton County has been charged in connection with an armed robbery in Petrolia.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Tuesday that the teen has been charged with robbery using a firearm, disguise with intent, and possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The charges are a result of a robbery that occurred on September 15 at a business on Petrolia Line near Gem Avenue. Police said an individual entered the business at around 5:30 a.m. carrying a weapon and committed the robbery. Police have not indicated what was stolen before the individual fled.

Yellow police tape surrounded the Circle K convenience store and Subway Restaurant on Petrolia Line following the robbery.

The 15-year-old suspect, who cannot be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been released from custody with a future court date.
