Two Sarnia pharmacies begin offering asymptomatic COVID testing

Two Shoppers Drug Mart stores in Sarnia are among 18 additional pharmacies in Ontario offering asymptomatic COVID-19 testing as of Tuesday.

The stores at 1206 Michigan Ave. and at 2600 Lakeshore Rd. in Bright's Grove were added by the province in an announcement late last week.

A total of 60 drug stores across the province were announced initially and further expansion of the service is promised.

In a statement on its website, Shoppers Drug Mart said the testing is available at select locations for asymptomatic individuals that meet criteria established by the province:

- Residents or workers in long-term care homes

- Visitors to a long-term care home

- Residents or workers in a homeless shelter

- International students that have passed their 14-day quarantine period

- Farmworkers

- Individuals who require a COVID-19 test for international travel clearance

- Self-Identified Indigenous
