Pictures sent to Blackburn News from Mark Moran show flames engulfing a black truck and smoke billowing into the air on Confederation Line, just east of Brigden Road.
Police were closing off the area to traffic and the fire department was responding.
Further information was not immediately known.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
