Lambton OPP looking for help in investigating train/van collision

Lambton OPP continue to investigate a van/train collision that occurred in St. Clair Township on October 9.

Officers responded to a report of a crash at the railway tracks on LaSalle Line at about 8:26 p.m.

They came upon an unoccupied, un-plated damaged van.

The train had stopped and one of the cars was damaged.

Initial investigation revealed the van was travelling eastbound on LaSalle Line as the train was crossing the railroad crossway and collided with the train in motion.

The West Region Canine Unit and the Emergency Response Team attended the scene in an attempt to locate the driver of the van.

A Scenes of Crime Officer attended to assist with the investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
