The organized event will see street cars compete in drifting, drag and lapping competitions.

Unsanctioned vehicle rallies, promoting similar competitions in Peel and York region, have recently resulted in hundreds of participants taking over parking lots and intersections to perform dangerous stunts and engage in street racing.

Lambton OPP are advising the public in the town of Grand Bend that there will be extra officers in the Lake Huron resort community Saturday and Sunday.

OPP also said in a news release Saturday that there will be road restrictions in the Main Street West area as a result.

Over the Thanksgiving Weekend alone, Provincial Police laid 4,771 speeding charges and 159 racing charges.
