Salmonella outbreak declared at Lambton Mall Road restaurant

Sarnia's Barakat restaurant has voluntarily closed its doors while Lambton Public Health investigates an outbreak of Salmonella food poisoning.

The local health agency said it's received lab confirmation of four cases related to the outbreak and is following up with several others who have reported becoming ill after eating at the restaurant on Lambton Mall Road.

The investigation into the source of the outbreak is ongoing.

Anyone who ate at Barakat Mediterranean Cuisine between October 21 and October 29 and became ill with symptoms like diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps, and vomiting, is asked to report to Lambton Public Health at 519 383-8331.
