A novice driver, who was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in St. Clair Township over five months ago, is now facing numerous charges.

Lambton OPP, EMS and volunteer firefighters responded to the single-vehicle crash on Lasalle Line, east of Kimball Road, at around 2:30 a.m. June 24.

The driver was airlifted to London hospital with critical injuries.

Police say a 20-year-old Sarnia man, holding a G1 licence, has now been charged with being unaccompanied by a qualified driver, driving at an unlawful hour, driving with a blood alcohol concentration above zero, failing to wear a seat belt properly and impaired driving by alcohol and drugs.

He is scheduled to appear in Sarnia court on January 11, 2021.
