Sarnia police make arrest in Confederation Street homicide

Sarnia police have made an arrest in connection with a homicide Saturday on Confederation Street.

The Criminal Investigations Branch obtained a warrant for a suspect, and on Tuesday, January 12, just before 1 p.m. Timothy James Noj, 32, of Sarnia was arrested at a local motel.

Noj is charged with second degree murder in the death of Luis Enrique Hernandez, 26, of Sarnia.

At about 5:30 p.m. January 9, police responded to a residence in a row house complex in the 900 block of Confederation Street, just east of Indian Road. An injured man needing medical attention was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Noj was being held in custody pending a bail hearing January 13.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
