Lambton OPP deploy spike belt to stop fleeing vehicle

Lambton OPP say they had to deploy a spike belt to stop a fleeing vehicle Friday night in the area of Rokeby Line and Inwood Road.

Police said an improperly plated vehicle was seen heading eastbound on Rokeby Line at around 10:20 p.m.

After ignoring a stop sign at Inwood Road, officers were able to safely bring the vehicle to a stop using the spike belt.

A 38-year-old St. Thomas man faces numerous charges, including dangerous operation of a vehicle, flight from police, using unauthorized plates, driving while under suspension, and driving without insurance.

The suspect was remanded in custody after appearing in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
