Former Lambton College president dies

A former Lambton College president has died.

Tony Wilkinson passed away January 9 at his home in South Delta, B.C.

Mr. Wilkinson earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Liverpool and went on to become a leader in higher education administration.

He immigrated to Canada in 1957 and quickly rose to become acting president of Ryerson University. In 1981 be was appointed the first president of Kwantlen College in greater Vancouver, and in 1987 became president of Lambton College where he remained until his retirement in 1995.

Due to the pandemic, the family has decided not to hold a funeral service at this time.

Tony Wilkinson was 91.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
