Two suspects identified, one arrested in Devine St. homicide

Sarnia police have arrested one suspect and are looking for a second in connection with the death of Allen Schairer.

The first suspect was arrested without incident at about 9:25 p.m. Wednesday by members of Sarnia's vice unit. The unnamed suspect has been charged with first degree murder and was remanded into police custody.

Investigators continue to search for a second suspect, also wanted for first degree murder regarding the death of the 62-year-old man.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 28-year-old Noah Elijah Brown, of no fixed address. According to police, Brown is described as approximately 6 feet tall, 155 lbs with a slim build and blue eyes. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact police at 519-344-8861 extension 0.

"We are asking the public not to approach Brown as he is believed to be dangerous and possibly in possession of a weapon," Sarnia police said in a news release. "If you do observe Brown please call 911."

Police identified Shairer as the man who was found dead inside of his home on Devine Street on Tuesday. His death marked Sarnia's fourth homicide of 2021.

Investigators stated earlier on Wednesday that they are looking for information relating to the death of Shairer, and the death of a 66-year-old Sarnia woman. Detectives have not confirmed if the suspects are also connected to the woman's death.
