Driver charged with impaired after vehicle hits hydro pole

A 21-year-old from Port Lambton faces impaired driving charges after a vehicle slammed into a hydro pole on St. Clair Parkway.

Lambton OPP found a downed hydro pole when they responded at around midnight Wednesday.

The driver was allegedly showing signs of impairment, and provided two breath samples above the legal limit at police headquarters.

The accused was released pending a future court date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
