Sarnia high school teacher charged with indecent exposure

A teacher at Great Lakes Secondary School has been charged with indecent exposure to a person under 16 years of age.

Sarnia police said on February 4 they received several complaints that a teacher had committed an indecent act during an online class earlier in the day.

The Criminal Investigations Branch looked into the allegation and a 60-year-old man was charged the next day.

Timothy Molyneaux’s first court appearance is scheduled for April 6 at the Sarnia courthouse.

Police said the Lambton Kent District School Board is conducting an internal investigation into the incident.

In a letter to parents, Director of Education John Howitt said the charged teacher has not been in the school since the allegations, and the board continues to cooperate with police in the investigation. "Staff will ensure students receive the necessary supports in order to mitigate the impact on students' success and wellbeing," said Howitt in the letter.
