New contract reached for Sarnia library and art gallery workers

The County of Lambton says it has reached a tentative contract agreement with workers at Sarnia Library and the Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery.

The agreement came ahead of a bargaining deadline of 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

The 30 non-management workers, represented by Unifor Local 65, had been without a deal since the end of 2019.

Details of the contract won't be released until it's ratified by both parties.

Unifor said it will be presented to its members on Sunday.

Lambton Corporate Services GM Stephane Thiffeault said the county hopes to ratify the deal in March.
