Sarnia police say woman's death not suspicious

Sarnia police say the death of an 86-year-old woman is not suspicious.

Officers responded to a home on Elsfield Crescent at around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday regarding a sudden death.

Police said due to the unknown nature of the death, the home was initially held as an active investigation scene pending the results of a post mortem.

An autopsy conducted Friday determined the death was not suspicious and police cleared the scene and returned the home to the family. It had been cordoned off with yellow police tape and police cruisers and the emergency command post were on scene for much of the week.
