A Petrolia man is a step closer to claiming a $100,000 ENCORE lottery prize from the January 16 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
Jason Hodgins' sister is an employee of an authorized Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation retailer, so the prize falls within the definition of an Insider Win.
The OLG said that as of Monday the claimant had completed the first step of a two-step process, which included enhanced scrutiny of the prize claim.
The prize will be held for a 30-day waiting period in order for OLG to publicize the win. If there are no additional claims it will be paid to the claimant on March 30.
The ticket was purchased at Esso on Plank Road in Sarnia.
