RBC confirms it's closing its branch in Sarnia's north end effective this summer.
In an email to Blackburn News, Senior Communications Manager Cheryl Brean said they've made the difficult decision to consolidate the Lakeshore Road branch with the Lambton Mall branch, effective July 9, 2021.
"This decision was made after careful consideration of how we can best serve our clients in Sarnia," she wrote. "We’re committed to helping each of our clients through this transition by finding solutions that meet their individual banking needs."
Brean said no job losses are expected as a result of the consolidation.
RBC closed its London Road branch in 2018, which is now home to Firehouse Subs, and built a new bank nearby at Lambton Mall. It closed its downtown branch in 2017.
The mall branch will be the only RBC bank in Sarnia when the Lakeshore Road facility closes.
