Over $50K in drugs seized in south Sarnia bust

A traffic stop and residential search led to the seizure of over $50,000 worth of drugs in Sarnia Tuesday.

City police said at around 6 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle near Russell Street and Kintail Street and arrested a suspect and two passengers. Shortly later a search warrant was executed at a residence on Confederation Street near Brock Street.

Police said they seized 83.2 grams of fentanyl worth over $41,000, 77.09 grams of crystal meth, 1.21 grams of crack cocaine, and 66 pain pills and capsules. A canister of bear spray, two brass knuckles, a taser device, expandable baton and $1,215 in cash were also seized.

Cassandra Lynn Chalmers, 30, was being held for a bail hearing on trafficking, possession and weapon charges.

A 30-year-old Sarnia man is also charged with possession and failing to comply with an undertaking.
