Sarnia police seized hydromorphone pills (worth $700), break and enter tools, a folding knife, masks, and replica pellet guns following a traffic stop on Wellington Street Tuesday.
At around 2:10 p.m., members of the COPPS unit tried to stop a vehicle that allegedly began to speed away.
Police said the suspect turned into the parking lot of a business and tried to flee on foot, but was arrested when he was met by a locked door.
Michael Coolman, 42, of Exeter, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of break and enter instruments, flight from police, operation while prohibited, and failing to comply with a release order.
He was being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Anyone with knowledge of these masks and replica handguns being used in other incidents is asked to call Constable Shawn Urban at 519-344-8861, extension 6163, or Sarnia Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
