Plympton-Wyoming Fall Fair cancelled for 2021

Lambton County's longest-running fall fair has been cancelled again due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, the Plympton-Wyoming Agricultural Society said this September's event is cancelled for a variety of reasons.

"This was not an easy decision to make," the statement reads. "One being the uncertainty of when the government will begin to allow festival-type events to resume. We cannot, in good conscience, ask our sponsors for their support in these financially stressful times when many of them have been closed."

The agricultural society said another factor is the ongoing use of the Wyoming fairgrounds as one of the vaccination centres for rural Lambton.

The society said it looks forward to hosting the fair in 2022.

The 174th edition of the fair in September of 2020 was also cancelled.
