New COVID cases up 12, active cases down three

Lambton Public Health reported 12 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sarnia-Lambton Saturday for a total caseload of 3,110 since the pandemic began.

Resolved cases increased by 15 to 2,945, dropping the active cases by three to 111. The death toll is unchanged at 54.

There’s one active outbreak at an unnamed workplace.

Bluewater Health reported Saturday that the number of COVID-positive patients in hospital had dropped from seven to four.

While Sarnia-Lambton's numbers have shown improvement recently, new confirmed cases continue to spike across the province-wide. Premier Doug Ford extended the stay-at-home order and announced tighter restrictions Friday afternoon.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
