Canada-U.S border restrictions extended another month

Non-essential travel restrictions between Canada and the U.S. have been extended by another month.

The measures, which were set to expire Wednesday, will be in place until at least May 21, 2021.

Public Safety Minister Bill Blair said the government will continue to base its decisions on the best public health advice available to keep Canadians safe from COVID-19.

Border crossings including the Blue Water Bridge have been closed to non-essential traffic since March of 2020.
