Active COVID case count in Sarnia-Lambton holds steady

The active COVID-19 caseload in Sarnia-Lambton held steady at 79 Friday.

Lambton Public Health reported 12 new confirmed cases and 12 more recoveries.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 there's been a total of 3,171 cases, 3,037 of which are considered resolved. The number of cases identified as variants of concern is at 336, the first having been reported locally March 3.

There are four active workplace and institutional outbreaks, unchanged from Thursday.

Bluewater Health has 12 COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one over the last 24 hours.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
