COVID-related deaths reach 56 in SL

Sarnia-Lambton's health unit reported another COVID-related death Saturday.

Lambton Public Health said the community's 56th death was person in their 80s who died in hospital.  There have been nine COVID deaths since March 16.

The health unit also added 10 new cases and 12 more recovered cases to the figures. The number of active cases sits at 76.

There have been 3,181 confirmed cases and 3,049 resolved cases since March 2020.

The number of active outbreaks is at four, unchanged from Friday.

Bluewater Health is reporting 10 COVID-positive patients in hospital, down two over the past 24 hours.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
