Workers recognized for performing life-saving CPR at Shell

An apprentice and a boilermaker are being commended for saving the life of another worker during a medical emergency at Shell's Sarnia Manufacturing Centre last week.

UA Local 663 Business Manager Ross Tius said Cody Shephard, along with boilermaker Ron Simon, performed CPR on a heart attack victim Thursday night in Shell's lunchroom. In a news release, Tius said the quick thinking and courageous action of Shephard and Simon saved the life of one of the union's travel card members.

The person was recovering in London hospital.

"I cannot express enough thanks for Cody's selfless act of heroism," said Tius.
