Teen charged after vehicle clocked at over 130 km/h in 80 zone

An 18-year-old is charged with stunt driving after being clocked at over 130 kilometres an hour in Dawn-Euphemia Wednesday night.

Lambton OPP spotted a vehicle travelling on Lambton Line at a high rate of speed before 8 p.m.

After getting a reading of more than 130 kilometres an hour in the 80 kilometer an hour zone, the officer pulled over the male driver.

In addition to the stunt driving charge, the suspect vehicle has been impounded and the driver’s licence has been suspended for a week.

Police say upon conviction, stunt driving includes penalties of up to six months in jail, a fine of up to $10,000 and six demerit points.
