Sarnia-Lambton COVID cases up 14, active infections up five

Sarnia-Lambton's COVID-19 numbers edged higher Friday.

Lambton Public Health reported 14 new confirmed cases for a total of 3,310,

The number of cases considered resolved went up nine to 3,165 which means active infections increased by five to 89. Cases involving variants of concern have climbed to 439 since March 3.

There are just three active outbreaks at unnamed businesses, down one, and Bluewater Health has 13 COVID-positive patients in hospital, a decrease of one from Thursday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
