Postmortem still pending in suspicious death investigation

A home on Cardiff Drive is still cordoned off after the discovery of a dead body over the weekend.

Just after 1:30 p.m. Saturday, police attended a home in the 700 block to conduct a welfare check.

Police said during a search of the home, officers located a deceased elderly person. The death is currently classified as suspicious pending a postmortem, which is expected to be conducted at the end of the week.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
