Motorcyclist charged after being clocked at over 140km/h in 80-zone

A 25-year-old man is charged with stunt driving after being clocked at over 140 kilometres an hour in an 80-zone Saturday afternoon.

Lambton OPP spotted a motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 40 in Sarnia at around 1:30 p.m.

Police got a reading of 143 kilometres an hour and pulled the man over.

The accused was charged and issued a seven-day licence suspension.  The motorcycle was also impounded for a week.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
