COVID figures continue positive trend in SL

Lambton Public Health reported another single digit increase of COVID-19 cases Thursday.

The health unit said the caseload increased by four to 3,536, of which 3,445 have been deemed resolved, up five in the last 24 hours. That lowers the number of active infections by one to 30.

There are no active outbreaks of the virus and the death toll stands at 61.

Since May 23, the daily increase in infections has been in double-digits just once.

Bluewater Health had six COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one.

Rexall in Sarnia has a surplus of Moderna vaccines and is encouraging residents to book COVID-19 vaccine appointments. The pharmacy is located on Cathcart Boulevard.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
