Couples invited to tie the knot June 26 in Petrolia

If your wedding plans were cancelled, changed or postponed because of the pandemic, the Town of Petrolia is looking to help.

The clerks department is hoping to book at least seven civil ceremonies at the covered bridge, in Bridgeview Park North Saturday, June 26.

Clerk Mandi Pearson said each couple will be given a 40 minute time slot, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., for the services which will be held rain or shine and are available on a first come, first served basis.

Pearson said couples can choose from three different ceremonies, which will take about a half hour at the bridge, and then they can take photos everywhere in the park.

Pearson said the marriage licence would need to be completed and the payment received in full no later than June 23 to confirm the time.

The fee for the ceremony is $175 plus HST for a Petrolia resident, and $200 plus HST for non-residents.

Pearson said all provincial guidelines will be observed, including the permitted capacity limits and physical distancing measures.

To book, or arrange a marriage license, you can email petrolia@petrolia.ca or call (519) 882-2350.
