Active COVID-19 cases rise in Sarnia-Lambton

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton has gone up by four cases to 40.

Lambton Public Health reported seven new COVID-19 infections on Saturday and only three recoveries.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been a total of 3,596 confirmed cases and 3,494 resolved cases.

The health unit also reported one active outbreak at an unspecified location.

The death toll is unchanged at 62.

Bluewater Health reported five COVID-19 patients in hospital, which is down from seven reported Friday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
