UPDATE: Grand Bend Beach now declared fit for swimming

Warning signs posted at beaches in Grand Bend have been taken down.

Lambton Public Health deemed the water at both the north and south beaches as unsafe for swimming due to high levels of e-coli bacteria. However, the warnings signs were taken down the next day, on July 22.

The health unit also regularly monitors water quality at Ipperwash, Pinery Provincial Park, C.J. McEwan beach, Bright's Grove (including Mike Weir Park), and Canatara Park.

Sampling is not conducted along the St. Clair River.

Monitoring will continue until the end of August.
