Provincial police will continue to monitor several neighbourhoods in Point Edward following concerns from residents and council about speeding vehicles.
Lambton OPP Constable Jamie Bydeley said areas of concern include Louisa Street, St. Clair Street, Helena Street, and Michigan Avenue.
Police warned motorists last week over Twitter to slow down as traffic enforcement would be conducted.
In response to recent complaints of high speeds in the area, members of #LamtbonOPP 'A' platoon and ERT are conducting speed enforcement. Motorists, you have been warned. #SlowDown @PointEdward ^jb pic.twitter.com/VnkvHEEYrF

OPP have issued 18 tickets in the areas of concern since July 21. Bydeley said via email that this amount indicates that "there isn’t a major issue with speed in the area". However, because of concerns, Lambton OPP will continue to maintain a presence in the community over the coming months.
