Three local tourism attractions have been given the green light to reopen this week as part of Step 3 of Ontario's reopening plan.
The Lambton Heritage Museum, Lambton County Archives, and Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery will all be welcoming visitors as of Wednesday, August 4.
Manager of Museums, Gallery and Archives Laurie Webb is excited, noting they've been shut down due to COVID since December.
"We have requirements in place for visitors to wear face coverings while they're in the facilities," said Webb. "We're asking people to also pre-book appointments. They can do so either by visiting each facility's website or by calling the facility and booking an appointment. People can arrive at the facilities as well, but we'll only let them in if there's space available."
Webb said the Lambton Heritage Museum will reopen featuring two new exhibits, Nnigiiwemin / We Are Going Home and The North Lambton Quilter’s Guild Show.
There are also two new exhibitions on display at The Judith & Norman Alix Art Gallery, An Abridged Sonic History of Global Conflict by contemporary artist Lee Henderson and Focus Finder by contemporary photo-based artist Susan Dobson.
Webb said The Oil Museum of Canada remains closed due to significant renovations.
A reopening announcement is expected to be made in the next couple of weeks.
