E-bikers swap spots, both charged with impaired

Two men riding on the same E-bike are each facing impaired driving charges after they were allegedly spotted swapping positions on the bike.

Lambton OPP said two people, both displaying signs of impairment, were seen leaving a licensed establishment on Main Street in Grand Bend at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officers observed the suspects mount a single E-bike and begin to drive away.  When the men saw police, it's alleged they traded positions on the bike.

Police conducted a traffic stop and administered roadside screening devices to both men, which led to two arrests for impaired operation.

A 42-year-old from Lambton Shores and 27-year-old from London are each facing impaired driving charges.

The London man faces additional charges of failure or refusal to comply with demand, failure to comply with a release order, operation while prohibited, and failure to comply with a probation order.
