Lambton County OPP said an off-duty officer spotted a suspected impaired boater on the Fawn Island Canal around 7:15 p.m. Saturday.

The off-duty officer arrested the boater following the collision and transported him to a boat launch where custody was transferred to on-duty officers.

Police said a 52-year-old London man provided two breath samples above the legal limit. He was charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus.
