Nearly 100K in drugs seized in Sarnia police busts

Sarnia police seized nearly $100,000 worth of drugs in three busts Thursday.

Cst. John Sottosanti said as part of an ongoing investigation, members of the vice unit executed warrants at addresses on Collingwood Street, Indian Road South and Hampton Avenue.

"As a result officers located 594.64 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 185 grams of fentanyl, 1.11 grams of cocaine, $28,335 in Canadian currency, a replica handgun and a bill counter," said Sottosanti. "The total street value of the drugs seized is approximately $96,800."

Michelle Anne Poirier, 33, of Sarnia, Danielle Gean Cumming, 30, of Sarnia and Keyshaun Lavalle Jordan, 22, of no fixed address are each charged with possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Poirier is also charged with failing to comply with a probation order.

Sottosanti said all three were being held pending bail hearings and the investigation is ongoing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
