Active COVID-19 cases creep higher

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton has gone up to nine.

Lambton Public Health reported three new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday along with one recovery.

The active case count has gone up slightly this week as there were four active cases reported on Monday

There have been 3,650 confirmed cases in the region since the start of the pandemic. In total, there have been 3,573 resolved cases.

The local death toll remains at 68 and there are no active outbreaks.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
