Lambton College extends COVID vaccination deadline

Lambton College has extended the deadline for students and staff to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Director of Marketing and Communications and Brand Management Diana Forbes said some had indicated challenges in meeting the previous August 31st deadline for first doses.

"We heard that they needed more time to secure these vaccinations if they had not already been vaccinated. We decided to extend the deadline by one week," said Forbes. "Ultimately, at the end of the day we want to align with the provincial mandate and also keep our employees, students, and community safe."

As a result, Lambton College said proof of a first dose of vaccine is now required by Tuesday, September 7, and proof of a second shot is needed by Monday, October 18.

Lambton College said to support those in getting their vaccines, clinics will be held on campus next month in partnership with Lambton Public Health.
