Active COVID-19 case count remains at 20

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton is holding steady at 20 for a third day in a row.

Lambton Public Health reported five new COVID-19 infections on Saturday but there were also five recoveries.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been a total of 3,687 confirmed cases in Sarnia-Lambton and 3,598 resolved cases.

The local death toll remains unchanged at 69. There are also no active outbreaks in the community.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
