Third COVID vaccine doses offered to vulnerable residents

Starting this week, Lambton Public Health is offering third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to vulnerable residents.

Those eligible for a third shot include transplant recipients, those getting treatment for hematological cancers, recipients of an anti-CD 20 agent, and people living in high-risk congregate settings like retirement homes and elder care lodges.

Those seeking a third dose should contact their primary care provider, and proof of the medical condition will be required at the clinic.

Third doses may be scheduled a minimum of eight weeks after the date of an individual's second dose.

Eligible residents can book their vaccine online at www.getthevaccine.ca or by calling the Vaccine Call Centre at 226-254-8222, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
