Sarnia speeder arrested after trying to flee traffic stop

A 24-year-old Sarnia driver allegedly tried fleeing a police traffic stop after being told her vehicle was about to be impounded for speeding.

Lambton OPP said the accused was clocked at over 100 kilometres an hour in 60-zone on Lasalle Line near Marthaville Road outside Petrolia at around 8:10 a.m. Wednesday.

An officer initiated a traffic stop and informed the driver her vehicle was subject to mandatory impoundment.  The driver then attempted to flee but was unsuccessful, and was then taken into custody.
