Active COVID-19 case count increases by one

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton has gone up slightly to nine.

Lambton Public Health reported one new case and no recoveries on Saturday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been a total of 3,693 confirmed cases in Sarnia-Lambton and 3,615 resolved cases.

The death toll in the region remains at 69. There are also no active outbreaks.

Lambton Public Health issued an advisory on Saturday after someone who attended a protest on Wednesday tested positive for COVID-19.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
