UPDATE: Officers deal with barricaded person, man arrested

Sarnia police say a wanted man who barricaded himself inside of a trailer Tuesday morning has been arrested and charged.

Just before 9 a.m., police said an officer on patrol spotted a stolen vehicle in the 1000 block of Tashmoo Avenue.

It's alleged the suspect was wanted in connection to the theft. Police said the individual refused to come out of the trailer when police arrived.

Police said shortly after 10 a.m., the suspect exited the trailer and surrendered himself to police. After about two hours of negotiating, the matter was peacefully resolved.

Corey Devin Maness, 32, of Sarnia is charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent, and failing to comply with a release order.

He has been remanded into custody, and his next court appearance is scheduled for September 10.
