Popular Sarnia restaurant closing permanently

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has forced another Sarnia restaurant to permanently close its doors.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Lizards Bar and Grill said the past 18 months have been detrimental to their business, and they haven't been able to operate the way the restaurant was meant to.

It said that the new landlords' plans for the building, and rising costs, played a factor.

The post expressed thanks for the community's support over the past 10-plus years.

Lizards will be staying open for a short time to get rid of their stock and to say goodbye.

Some employees are moving to Bains BBQ, and any gift certificates purchased from Lizards will be honoured at Bains BBQ for the remainder of 2021.
