UPDATE: COVID linked to elementary schools in Sarnia, Petrolia

Elementary schools in Sarnia and Petrolia each reported a case of COVID-19 Monday.

The St. Clair Catholic District School said one student from St. Matthew in Sarnia and another student from St. Philip in Petrolia each tested positive for the virus.

St. Clair Communications Supervisor Todd Lozon said one cohort from St. Matthew is required to isolate at home and continue their learning online.  He added that zero staff are required to isolate at home as a result of the positive case.

The confirmed case connected to St. Philip has closed one class.

There are currently no confirmed cases of the virus reported at Sarnia-Lambton schools at the Lambton Kent District School Board.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
